Hutberg

The Hutberg is a popular excursion destination on the outskirts of Kamenz. Especially in spring and summer, when the rhododendrons are in bloom, it´s a favourite destination for tourists and locals alike.

The 24 metres high observation tower offers a great view of the Upper Lusatian heath and pond landscapes. If you take a walk through the park and admire the grounds, you can take a break or two in the Hutberg restaurant afterwards.


Hutberg stage

The Hutberg stage has made the Hutberg famous far beyond the borders of Kamenz.

The open-air stage is used for all kinds of events. Concerts from rock to pop take place in an idyllic atmosphere surrounded by forest.

Up to 6.800 visitors flock to the open-air stage during concerts to soak up the atmosphere.


Lessing Museum

The Lessing Museum is dedicated to the person, work and influence of Gotthold Ephraim Lessing.

The house where Lessing was born fell victim to afire in 1842 and a Lessing memorial town was finally built in 1863. To mark the 200th anniversary of Gotthold Ephraim Lessing´s birth, the citizens of Kamenz founded a prestigious building in 1929, which has been used as the Lessing Museum and municipal library ever since.


The Kamenz Forest Festival

The Kamenz Forest Festival is a traditional school and local festival in Kamenz and takes place every year in the week around 24th August. At the centre of the festival is the entry and exit of the Kamenz schoolchildren.

During the entire week of the festival, the Kamenz Forest is transformed into a popular amusement park with fairground rides. Shooting ranges and catering facilities.


Museum of West Lusatia

The Museum of Western Lusatia focuses on the landscape, nature, culture and history of western Upper Lusatia. The landscape museum has collections on the cultural history, archaeology, geology and botany of the region.
